I never liked Sam. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and his father drove the most luxurious car. No one dared to talk to him as we thought we are peasants to him. I was expecting that my impression on him would never change but little did I know a friendship was going to develop.

After school, I had an important online class. I rummaged in my bag for my umbrella as it was raining heavily. For a moment, I thought I left it at home. My face turned as white as a ghost. I tried to remember where I had last seen it. Nevertheless, I realised I had to stay at school till the rain stopped.

Then, someone patted my shoulder. I slowly turned around and saw Sam looking at me. He asked me what was the problem. I told him I had an important online class and I forgot to bring an umbrella. After hearing what I said, he offered to share his umbrella with me. Despite being a wallflower, I accepted it. I smiled shyly in gratitude.

In the end, my impression on Sam changed and a friendship blossomed. I learnt to never judge a book by its cover and to instead understand people better. This lesson will be forever etched in the deep recesses of my mind.
